We will work through simple exercises that will introduce you to new ways of looking at and drawing individual objects and still life. You will be introduced to techniques and experimental processes to enable you to develop a more personal or meaningful interpretation of your subject matter.

Monoprinting creates a single, unique image. The beauty of this technique lies in its accessible form that requires a minimum of technical application and materials, spontaneity and its allowance for combinations of printmaking, painting and mark making.

On this workshop you will create your own mixed media papers using a variety of techniques. These will include collage, painting papers, stencilling and stamping. These papers will be great to use in all sorts of projects, like collages and sketchbooks.

Pochoir Printing – zoom workshop

‘Pochoir’ is French for stencil. In the 20th century pochoir printmaking was made famous in France by Picasso and Matisse. The French term Pochoir now defines this specific artists’ technique. On this workshop you will make your own stencils to layer and create shapes to make prints. Collect your ideas, drawings and photographs to have ready for the workshop. You can also use pre-made, or hand-cut stencils. This workshop is for complete beginners or those who want to experiment with something different for image making.

Eco Printing – zoom workshop

Learn techniques you need to produce beautiful clear and vivid prints from botanical materials. This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but will also be relevant to improvers, especially those who are hoping to achieve clearer prints, richer colours, and greater technical knowledge. You will need to gather your own natural materials.

Have you always wanted to make your own prints but didn’t know where to start?
Explore with us and learn the basics of screen printing at home. Using your own drawing make hand cut stencils and learn how to transform your design into a 1-3 colour screen print. Screen printing onto a range of papers.

Rust Dyeing – zoom workshop

Using an experimental approach and found metal we will explore the exciting possibilities of using rust as a colouring and printing agent. We will experiment with a range of methods for transferring marks onto paper and fabric, discovering the possibilities of a range of objects and producing a series of unique prints and marks.

There is something very satisfying about producing colour, and doing so without leaving your home! Using scraps of fabric, paper and items you have in the store cupboard!
Experimenting with colour can also be a source of inspiration, the palette produced can be used to create a journal of colour inspiration.

This zoom workshop is a great way to get creative with Lino printing! Gather your own ideas, photographs and images and receive advice and support with your design ideas.
