The personal information we collect about you may include:

name, title, email address, phone number and postal address.

We’d only ask for sensitive personal information where we have a valid reason, such as accessibility or dietary requirements for specific events.

sign up to our email newsletters and/or following the gallerytop social media platforms communicate with us by phone, email or letter.

Why we are allowed to process your personal information

We consider the use of personal information as set out in this policy is a legitimate business interest and the processing of personal information is reasonably necessary to pursue that interest. Our legitimate interests are set out under Who We Are: a commercial art studio and our purpose is to provide workshops, course and events and generate income for pitchblue as a viable business. However, we rely primarily on consent, which you provide by opting in to our mailing list and pro-actively providing it in other ways – for example, completing a written request to be included on our mailing list.

Generally, we will rely on your consent to process your personal information and to send you marketing communications via email.

Communicating with you

We will communicate with you if you have engaged with our e-commerce capability and this will be separate to e-mail marketing messages. When you have given us a contact email address and your confirmed consent (e.g. you have opted in) we will contact you for marketing purposes via email. These marketing communications include new workshops, courses and events we think you’ll find of interest based on your relationship with us.

Our email marketing communications uses MailChimp which tracks the effectiveness of our communications with you, including when a message is delivered, opened and how many links are clicked within the message. This is to help deliver more relevant e-mails in future.

If you have provided us with your postal address we may send you direct mail – exhibition invitations and information about workshops and courses – unless you have told us that you don’t want to receive such information via this channel. You can change your direct mail marketing preferences at:

We follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of personal information to keep it secure. We aim to ensure any transfers of information are done securely, in accordance with best practice and in compliance with data protection laws. pitchblue partners and information processors (eg. MailChimp) are committed to respect the confidentiality of your personal information.

How long we keep your personal information

We will remove your personal information from our records if you unsubscribe from our mailing list or if you request us to delete your name and address from our direct mail list. We remove you from our mailing list if you appear to cease engaging with our e-mails, in order to avoid you receiving unwanted communication.
