Colour Mixing – half day workshop

On this workshop you will guide you through paint mixing exercises which will help you create, with a small selection of paints, a wide range of colours. The workshop will include demonstrations, as well as group and individual instruction. It is useful for both beginning and intermediate painters.

April

Machine Embroidery – half day workshop

Saturday 2nd April 1:30 – 4

Learn how to set up your sewing machine for free machine embroidery and develop your skills to make a picture or stitched piece.

You will learn how to draw with your sewing machine and to create beautiful, exotic textures and pattern samples to take home. A sewing machine can do so much more than stitch seams!

Make Your Mark in Mixed Media Still Life – with local artist Deb Allitt – full day workshop

Saturday 30th April 10 – 4

Bring mark making, colour and composition to the fore in this still life workshop. Enjoy learning from the works of contemporary artists, experimenting with different tools such as felt tips, crayons, watercolours, pencils, pens etc in guided exercises, and creating your own mixed media art works.

Make Your Mark in Water Colour Still Life – with local artist Deb Allitt – full day workshop

Working from vibrant still life set ups energise your watercolour painting through mark-making, colour and composition exercises. Study the work of contemporary artists, experiment, be bold, and complete several pieces within the session.

Please bring along your own watercolour paints, paper and brushes.

Paper Making – full day workshop

Friday 10th June 10 – 3:30

One this workshop you will explore the beauty and versatility of paper making. You will make your own papers including experimenting with decorative elements within the paper – plants, textiles, other papers. Example of projects and how you could develop them using your handmade papers will be discussed and guidance given.

Fabric Landscapes – full day workshop

Explore the use of layers in textiles to create a piece of work inspired by the forms, colours and objects in the landscape. Print, collage and stitch will transform the ordinary into the extraordinary as your work develops and your landscapes emerge.

Explore mark making, colour and composition in landscape oil painting. Be inspired by studying the work of contemporary painters, guided through exercises on mark making, colour use and composition, and encouraged to be adventurous as you create several oil paint sketches during the day.

An exciting afternoon of experimental painting. This workshop will build your  painting and colour mixing skills and will also allow you to experiment and embrace the process, letting go of working towards an outcome and enjoy the journey.
