Roz and Caroline, who left teaching to set up pitchblue in 2015, have gathered a large, eclectic and colourful mix of artwork from their students, local artists, printmakers, craft makers, textile artists and photographers, which will be for sale at pocket money prices over the weekend.

Roz says “We can’t wait for the sale doors to open … and hoping there’s a big queue” … “Art students are terrible hoarders they have drawers stuffed with lovely work that they never get round to framing. Or have framed pieces that get lost under beds or in cupboards! Rolling large pieces up in corners is another habit, and portfolios strain at the seams with samples! A good spring clean has uncovered a lot of lovely pieces for the sale”

“Some of the work has been created here at pitchblue”, commented Caroline, holding a mixed media piece from the Sip and Paint group on Thursday evenings, “but there are a lot of really experimental, inspired pieces that are part of the students own collections. This work really deserves to be on someone’s walls, not stashed away.”

We also have a number of local artists at the sale, artist Pat Shenstone, photographer Elliot Ball and the Little Canyon printworks to name but a few, will also have work on sale.
